A miracle of nature, fancy green diamonds are exceptionally rare. Green diamonds get their color when radiation displaces carbon atoms from their normal positions in the crystal structure. This can happen naturally when diamond deposits lie near radioactive rocks, or artificially as a result of treatment by irradiation, per GIA. The green diamond centering this ring weighs 1.05 carats. It is “fancy intense” in color. The ring is framed by marquis-cut diamonds weighing 0.82 carats and two round-brilliant cut fancy pink diamonds weighing 0.20 carats on each of its poles. It is accented with an additional 60 round-brilliant cut diamonds and set in 18k white and rose gold. A true gem, this item is part of our “exceptional” collection.
This diamond is classified by GIA to be of “fancy intense green-yellow” color and “SI1” clarity.
